What We Do
Sea Scout Ship 444 is mainly focused on boating and watersports.  Our
members are striving toward the Quartermaster Award.  Click
here to
read more about Sea Scouting and the awards you can get.

Besides meetings, Ship 444 usually has one or two outings per month.
Last November, we had a work day and camp out at Camp Yocona, and
in December, we went camping at the Sipsy Wilderness in Alabama.

We are planning SCUBA certification, and more fabulous activities
including a trip to the Florida Sea Base in Summer 2006.  Read more
about it in the
Calendar.
Our Boat
Ship 444 was originally chartered in December 2002 by Hollis Discount
Pharmacy in Ripley, Mississippi and currently owns a thirty year old
25-foot fixer upper named the
Halcyon.  We appreciate the generosity of
the
Midway Marina in Fulton.  They donated the slip where the Halcyon is
docked.

Help the Halcyon link in
the menu above.

Many thanks to Mike
Brownlee who came as a
consultant and went over
the various parts of a
Sunfish.  He also talked to
us about the Naval
Academy and his
experiences in the
Marines.  We hope that he
will come again.

The first meeting actually
to be held aboard the
Halcyon while she was
underway was last
Tuesday and doubled as
a Bridge of Honor.

Everyone advanced in
rank,  we had pizza and
cold drinks, and tried to
catch the few slight puffs
of wind that never showed
up that evening.
